Sacred Heart Major Seminary welcomes visitors to its historic campus. Each year, Sacred Heart hosts numerous visitors who are interested in the many educational, scholarly, cultural, recreational and athletic activities that enrich the seminary and its community.

Sacred Heart is located in central Detroit on Chicago Boulevard between Linwood Avenue and Lawton Street. It is across the street from the Boston-Edison Historic District. This community of stately homes of eclectic style was constructed between 1900-1930 during Detroit's automotive boom years.

The campus is only one mile off the Lodge Expressway (Chicago Boulevard exit) and is easily reached from all parts of the Metro Detroit area using the major freeways.

Those who would like to visit Sacred Heart Major Seminary outside of scheduled events are asked to contact us in advance at 313-883-8500.

The seminary building and grounds are open for scheduled events from 8 a.m.-10 p.m. daily. Please note: hours of specific seminary facilities may vary.

We ask you to be respectful while you visit and to maintain an atmosphere conducive to prayer, study, retreats, peacefulness, and safety for not only our students, but also for you, our guests.

Unescorted visitors must be at least 18 years of age. Minors must be accompanied by an adult chaperone at all times, in keeping with the Safe Environments policies of the Archdiocese of Detroit.
